I installed the unit in my 2005 Suburban and was up and running in a few minutes and the sound quality was incredible, after about 6 months the unit would only power up once in a while. I checked my vehicle systems and found no problems so I called Fred and explained the problem and without any hesitation told me the unit would be replaced under warrantee.
I called at about 4pm and Fred had one in the mail by 5pm that day with just a promise I would send the old unit back to him. One day later I had the new unit installed in my Suburban and it has worked flawlessly since. It has been almost a year since this happened and I'm extremely happy with the unit and the excellent customer service from Fred is almost unheard of these days. I should of written this review awhile ago but I feel even better knowing I can still write this after using this product for over a year now.
This was the perfect solution for Bluetooth in my car.

I ordered mmy Galaxy 1000 on Friday and recedived it on Monday. I wish all my orders thru other vendors were that prompt. I installed and had it paired in maybe 5 minutes. It works great. Last wee k I got my AX bill and Onstar was $40 and I said this is crazy since I only have it for the phone. I then searched for bloothtooth adapter and found Galaxy 1000. Shipping and delivery was super fast. Installing the Galaxy 1000 was easy and quick. Pairing was easy too. At first the sound quality was poor, so I called Fred ( it was Sat. afternoon). He had me try a few things and then I remembered that I had my Garmin on and I had the Bluetooth paired to my smartphone. As soon as I turned the Garmin off the sound quality was perfect. I turned my Garmin back on and unpaired the Bluetooth to my smartphone and now everything is up and running the way I want it. I have a 2005 Envoy and the radio turns down but not the fan speed when I make or receive a call. But that's not a big deal to me.

When i bought my 2004 Suburban i wanted to leave my stereo OE rather than getting a aftermarket head unit,and didn't want to pay to use OnStar,the galaxy 1000 is a great plan "B" the install was very easy however on the Suburban (at least the 2004's) there's no place to actually mount the galaxy, I had to cram the unit behind the glove box and close it, an extra cable say 3' longer even at cost would have been much helpful to mount it somewhere else behind the glove box. Other than that it works great.

This product is great. The hardest part was getting to the OnStar unit in my 2003 Seville. Once this was achieved, all connections and pairing went smoothly. When asked, every person I talked to could not tell that I was driving (no noise or muffled sound). The only downfall is that I can no longer use the steering wheel control, other than the volume (Fred, please keep us posted to any updates). Other than that, the Galaxy 1000 is great, especially when forgetting you are driving through a cell phone free area such as a school zone. Thanks for a great product. I highly recommend it!

The Galaxy 1000 took no time to hook up. Finding a place for it took the most time. If you have a 04-06 Tahoe/Suburban with the XM module just take your time and it will fit. I unplugged the 2 OnStar antenna, fit the Galaxy 1000 then reconnected without having difficulty with the glove-box. The sound quality was great and I would recommend this unit to everyone who wants a factory bluetooth kit that does not require the OnStar service

Excellent product. Put it in 05 Escalade ESV and it works great with my iPhone 4s. Even gives me SIRI with the push of a button on the mirror. Voice dialing works from the phone address book or number dialing. Easier to install than I thought. Hardest part was finding room for the Galaxy 1000 to allow me to close the glove box.

I received my Galaxy 1000 this afternoon in the mail. I ordered it on Monday and got it on Thursday. Pretty quick if you ask me. Total time from opening the box to my first test call in my 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP was less than 15 minutes. I could have done it in a lot less time if I had bothered to read the instructions completely before starting. I'm a guy, and as most of you know, we don't always read or follow instructions. The only problem I had was parring my Droid Razr to the Galaxy 1000, but again, that was my fault. After a couple of test calls to and from my home phone, I called a friend that works for a major cell phone provider to get a better idea of how it worked on a real call. I could hear him very well and he said that it was one of the best sounding bluetooth devices he had heard. He asked me to run over to the store where he works and show it to him. He was even more amazed when he got in my car and didn't see an add-on unit anywhere in my car. He said that he is going to recommend it to all of his customers with an OnStar equipped car. I am very pleased with the unit and will recommend it as well.
Some of you may think that $249 is a bit pricey, but it is a bargain for a unit of this sound quality, ease of use and installation. Seriously folks, my 10 year old niece who know nothing about cars could have installed this unit with little if any help. She may even have been able to do it in less time than me. After all, she does read the instructions completely before starting any project.

Installed Galaxy 1000 in my 2004 DTS after finally finding how to get to the 3 10mm nuts that secure the electrical bay in the trunk/right passenger seat side.
Then it was simple as 1-2-3 done ..paired my iPhone 4s and "viola" ..the clarity is superb and I like not having to have radio on to make/receive calls.

This thing is great! Just put it into my 2003 Deville. Getting to the Onstar unit was not that much fun, but once I got to it things could not have been simpler. Just removed the old unit and plugged in the Galaxy1000. Paired my iPhone and instant success! Siri even works over it.

As advertised this installed in my 2004 Avalanche in under 5 minutes. Push one tab to fully open the glove compartment door. The old onstar unit was located in exactly the location as indicated on the web site. Remove the two cables and attach them to the new unit. Attach two velcro strips to secure the galxay 1000, close the glove compartment door, and finished.
Pairing with my google nexus s android phone took about 30 seconds and the job was done.
When a call comes in I simply touch the answer button on the mirror, or the button on the steering wheel. The radio/cd is automatically muted [at least on my system] and you can proceed with your call with amazing voice clarity - unlike those cheaper clip on the visor bluetooth units!!
I am totally satisfied with this unit - not expensive when you consider the quality of the product.

I received my Galaxy 1000 this afternoon just before leaving on an hour and a half drive to a conference. It was less than two minutes to install. I used the device several times driving to and from the conference and it worked absolutely flawless!
My only challenge is limited space behind my glove compartment. I haven't been able to store it there so that I can shut my door. For the time being I have just let it rest in my glove compartment.
I paired it with an iPhone 4 in a 2006 Tahoe. If anyone else with a similar vehicle has experienced the storage challenge...please share your resolution!

Everyone I spoke with on the phone while driving said they were not hearing echo or feedback and my daughter said she couldn't tell I was on a bluetooth device, it was that clear. Works GREAT! Once I located the onstar box (labeled Motorola), mine was iin the trunk, passenger side rear quarter panel, behind the wheel well and gas tank fill tube on my 2005 CTS-V. Just unscrewed the carpet connectors, pull the carpet away and there it was. Unplugged the white connectors, plugged them into the galaxy and that was it. Plug and Play. Using two-faced tape, attached the galaxy to the motorola box and that was it. Paired instantly with my Droid. I did have Fred walk me through it on the car on the phone.

Fred has definitely delivered a great product. I had it installed in my 2004 CTS-V in about 10 minutes, which included taking it out of the box. Paired up my iPhone 4 with no problems and completed a test call successfully. First time I used it my wife commented it was much better than the factory hands free in my old Jeep as she could barely hear the wind noise. I chuckled and told her I was running about 70 with all the windows rolled down. Once I put them up, she commented on how clear and noise free it was. Very happy with this product. The only improvement I could see is if they could crack the code for us older Class 2 cars to get the caller ID to display on the screen.

I have had several bluetooth devices in different vehicles, BUT NONE were as easy as this one.
I had a quote from the local automotive store for 586.00 to install a device similar to this. I found the GALAXY 1000 on line and with one phone call to FRED he set my mind at ease. Before I purchased I called to inquire about the product and installation procedure, and unbelievably, Fred actually answered the phone! He was very helpful and explained it all in detail. The sound quality was poor and I had to tweak some of the settings but couldn't find a setting that was satisfactory. I understand the two products operate differently, however the Galaxy1000 was the right choice for me. I was able to install the product, pair it to my Blackberry and immediately start using the product. The call clarity is amazing. I called my brother using the device and he thought I was in my house calling directly from my phone. He was quite happy for me as he helped me with the search however he was bummed that it is not compatible with his Buick.

Just got my Galaxy 1000 in the mail today. Very fast shipping (less than a week from hitting confirm for payment to on my doorstep.) Setup was a breeze! Took about 5 minutes. The hardest part was finding a place to put the box, but even that wasn't that bad. Anybody (and I really mean anybody) can install this unit themselves. Customer service is superb! Ran into a slight problem (my fault) and called the customer service number. Was instantly connected to a real person...even at 7:30 in the evening EST!! The sound quality is amazing! I just purchased this product for my 2006 Cadillac CTS. The product installed in less than 5mins. Sync'ed up in seconds and works absolutely PHENOMINALLY!!! I can't rate this product high enough. With my specific vehicle the product works with the radio off and even brings the fan on the A/C/heater down when a call is placed or received, just like the On-Star unit did. This is a great product. Installation is pretty easy, and it works exceptionally well. I installed it on a 03 Denali and use it with a VX6800 phone. The hands free voice quality is quite amazing. Customer service is first class. Call the support number and you get Fred, not some person reading a script in broken English in a foreign country. I had a problem with the first unit I received. I called about 3PM Pacific on a Friday and the replacement arrived at my home on Monday. It has worked flawlessly for over a month. This is a technology product that does one thing, and does it exceptionally well. Set up is very simple. Then, just use it. One cool feature I discovered is that I can switch existing calls to the Galaxy/OnStar when I get in the Denali, and back to the XV6800 when I get out of the Denali. I'm a very happy customer.

I found this product searching for a handsfree system for my Chevy Uplander. I had tried a number of sun visor clip-on units and they were all trash. This unit is truly an all-in-one plug and play device, and the customer support is EXCELLENT. I FINALLY was able to get time to get the Galaxy1000 installed last weekend and have used it all week and can give a good report/review of it's function and operation.
INSTALL :
Install was VERY easy. The OnStar module is located on the passenger side of the trunk. To access you just need to remove 6 screw down fasteners that hold down the trim peice that is on the rear most part of the trunk and side trunk liner. After that, you can pull away the trunk line on the passenger to access the OnStar module and wiring. To install the Galaxy 1000, you unplug the only two connectors that go into the OnStar unit ( both are white AND are different shaped/keyed so NO WAY to get them confused/connected wrong) and plug them into the Galaxy1000 unit.
Mounting the unit is going to be an owner by owner decision. For me, I found that I could "wedge" the Galaxy 1000 between the trunk floor and the OnStar unit/wiring very solidly. I placed a peice of adhesive on the top/bottom of the Galaxy1000 where it would contact the trunk floor and OnStar unit. After 1 week, I last night checked on the unit. Still solidly in place. No rattles or otherwise were heard at all during normal operation so I am happy with this solution. Others may choose use the mounting tabs formed into body of the Galaxy 1000 case (3) or otherwise.
SETUP :
This was an absolute breeze and the Galaxy comes with excellent included instructions as well as being available to print from their website.. Hold down the OnStar key for 5-10 second to put unit into paring mode. Go into your cell phone and find the unit labeled "ARGUS GALAXY" and connect. Password is "1234". Done and Done.
OPERATION :
I am an IT consultant/technician and am in/out of my car all day. Galaxy 1000 powers up/connects when I start the car, turns off/disconnects when i shut off the car. Have had ZERO issues this week and I talk a good 500 mins or so in the car on average per week. I had a Motorola T305 ( VERY nice external solution) and find that the Galaxy outperforms it in all aspects. I REALLY enjoy how it lowers the music volume when a call comes in (sometimes I crank out my Alice in Chains a bit loud ) and turns off the music when a call is accepted. Had to do this manually with my Motorola external unit. Same goes for turning the Motorola unit on/off when I got in/out of the car. Alot of times I stay within range of the bluetooth and when I would pick up a call onsite, it would transfer to my phone and I'd have to change over before talking to the client. PITA at times. The integrated OnStar microphone seems to be excellent. My car has a Corsa exhaust and not one person has complained or mentioned any increase/decrease from my previous setup. Most people say I sound better when comparing it to my Motorola unit.
At this time, I have not a solitary negative thing to say about the Galaxy 1000. I wish it was cheaper (isn't that true of every modification) but for me, it's was 249.00 WELL SPENT. Would not hesitate to buy it again. I will be ordering another unit for my wife's Tahoe.

I wanted to use the product for a couple of weeks before I commented. The product works as advertised. I installed in an \'05 Yukon Denali. Installation was a snap since my module is right behind the glovebox. I use mine with an iPhone and have no problems with connections. Since the iPhone has voice activated dailing, then I get to use this feature with the Galaxy 1000.
The other positive theing I would like to talk about is the turn around time on answering my question. It was outstanding, I don\'t hink anyone else I have dealt with responded as quickly.

Although I was initially skeptical, I must admit that I was thoroughly impressed with the Galaxy 1000. Not only was it easy to install and setup, but I was amazed at the quality of the hands free conversations I could now have through the otherwise unused Onstar system in my Denali. The Galaxy 1000 also muted the Denali's stereo system when a call was either incoming or outgoing and when I used the Voice dialing feature on my Blackberry Storm, the Blackberry's voice recognition software voice came through over the Denali's speakers loud and clear! On a side note, the manufacturer powers up each unit 100 times to make sure there is no connectivity/power up problems. From what I was told this WAS an issue in the beta models.

I purchased 1 unit for my Cadillac CTS and 1 for my wife's Suburban. I found the units rather pricey and by the time they arrived in Canada and I paid duty my wallet really took a hit. This said there are not a lot of options out there that are this integrated and easy to install. Install went really well and both worked within minutes. Unfortunately after the first attempt we have had problems. In my Cadillac sometimes it does not power on and I have to pull over, turn off the car and start it again. I can't figure out why but 8 out of 10 times it works fine. I've taken conference calls and when it works it works like a charm. My wife drives a 2005 Suburban and so far it works about 2 out of 10 times. I've spend some time trying to trouble shoot and see from a post below that turning the key to "power" and waiting for the connection before starting the truck works for him so we'll give this a try.
Sales support and customer service was top notch... In the end it feels like I purchased a "beta" product but if I can figure out how to work around the quirks I suspect I'll learn to love it.

Hello. I have had my Galaxy for only a day and I have to say the quality of the calls is great. My phone has voice activated dialing that is automatically activated when you press the call Dot on the Mirror and it really works well. I have had Onstar running in my vehicle since I purchased it (2005 Suburban) for $19 a month with an additional line via Verizonwireless for another $9.99 a month designated to the Truck. It required me to forward an un-forward my cell phone to the truck number in order to achieve hands free operation. The biggest problem I had was when you either forget to forward it as you get in or when you forget to un-forward it when you get out leaving you in a black hole until you remember to un-forward the calls to the vehicle.
Three things that have lowered my rating below;
1. The initial pairing did not work and subsequent pairings would not connect the phone to the speakers, others could hear me but I could not hear them. After countless attempts, we made a successful connection and that problem has gone away. We called Galaxy several times and the support was helpful, courteous and a LIVE person answered the phone each and every time. I suspect my problem was tied into point 2.
2. It turns out that unless you have your radio powered on; there is no connection to the audio system of your vehicle. Onstar would accept calls and activate the microphone and speakers if the radio was on or off and was a nice feature as sometimes I like to drive with nothing but my thoughts. Instead of turning the radio off I just dial down the volume now.
3. Unless I turn the key to the on position and let the phone connect to the via Bluetooth and wait a few seconds before starting the truck, it fails to connect on most attempts. I have learned to be more patient and wait for the solid light on the mirror after turning the key to the on position before starting the truck. Seems to do the trick.
Overall, I am happy with the purchase despite a couple of nuances. I would recommend it to others but tell them up front about the radio needing to be on all the time. It may be something Galaxy wants to put in their sales literature as well or change in any product modifications or revisions over time.

I just bought and installed the Galaxy 1000 for my 06 denali and it works great. It works as well as the one in the Lexus or BMW.I now have a follow up question: does Galaxy make a bluetooth product for Ford vehicles?
